Story Groups
Spring 2027
Rooted in the Allender Center framework, this 8-week experience offers a compassionate space to reveal where false narratives about ourselves, our suffering, and others have taken root. Together, we’ll work to break the cycles of shame and contempt so you can relate to your story with deeper truth and grace.
Ready to explore your Story?
Story Groups are especially powerful for people who find themselves in seasons of transition, reflection, or relational healing. You might fit right in if you are:
A Partner or Spouse
1
looking to understand the roots of your partner's story—and your own—so you can dismantle recurring relational patterns and cultivate deeper intimacy and joint healing.
An adult who grew up in rigid, abusive, or neglectful family or church systems
2
ready to untangle the hidden impact of early harm, process institutional or family trauma, and reclaim your authentic voice and dignity.
A parent of adult children
3
seeking to understand modern mental health, bridge generational gaps, and meet your children in their personal healing journeys with greater empathy and self-awareness by exploring your own story.
Church and non-profit leaders
4
who want to lead with greater emotional intelligence, ground their ministry or organization in a trauma-informed lens, and foster healthier, more resilient communities.
Course structure
This 8-week group is designed to create a safe, intentional container for examining specific written scenes from your past. By looking closely at these pivotal childhood moments, you can begin to loosen the grip of old survival strategies, transform deep-seated shame, and step into a renewed sense of voice, agency, and dignity.
